This appendix defines key terms used throughout these Terms and Conditions:
LEI (Legal Entity Identifier):
A 20-character, alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a Legal Entity in global financial systems, in accordance with ISO 17442.
LE-RD (Legal Entity Reference Data):
The core information related to an entity such as legal name, address, incorporation details, and relationship information.
GLEIF:
Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation, a not-for-profit organization overseeing the Global LEI System.
LOU (Local Operating Unit):
An accredited entity authorized by GLEIF to issue and manage LEIs.
Authorized Representative:
Any person authorized to act on behalf of a Legal Entity, including Directors, Employees, or PoA holders.
Client Agent:
A third party (e.g., consultant or intermediary) assisting multiple Legal Entities in managing LEI requests.
Corporate Representative:
A full-time employee or officer designated to manage LEIs on behalf of multiple companies within a corporate group, supported by authorization letters.
Power of Attorney (PoA):
A legal document that grants one individual or entity the authority to act on behalf of another.
Lapsed:
An LEI status where the Legal Entity has not completed re-validation by its renewal date.
Retired:
An LEI that is no longer valid due to the Legal Entity’s merger, dissolution, or transformation.
Annulled:
An LEI cancelled due to a significant error, including duplicate issuance or fraudulent application.
Reinstatement:
The process of restoring an LEI to active status after suspension or lapse.
Subscription Renewal:
An automated renewal process enabled via payment gateway auto-debit.
Multi-Year Contract:
A pre-paid arrangement allowing LEI validity over multiple years, subject to annual validation.
